EXCELMATHEMATICS LEARNING CENTER CORP · Doral, Florida
Purpose of this page. This documents exactly how and where consumers consent to
receive SMS messages from Excel Mathematics, so the opt-in language and controls can be reviewed
directly without navigating a multi-step form. The controls below are an exact reproduction of the
live ones and are non-functional here. The working versions are on the contact step of our quiz at
excel-math.com/quiz-es and on our booking form at
cal.com/juan-excelmath/llamada-de-estrategia-de-becas.
Two separate consents, collected at two separate steps
We collect two distinct, independent consents. They are not two checkboxes on one
screen — they are gathered at different points in the funnel, so no consumer is ever
shown both at once and neither can be given by accident:
Program information (marketing) — promotional messages about our SAT Math
program. Collected by one checkbox on the quiz.
Appointment notifications (transactional) — confirmations and reminders for the
free Scholarship Strategy Call, and replies when the parent texts us. Collected by
a checkbox on the booking form, shown only to a parent who is actually booking the call
those reminders are about.
Giving one does not give the other. They are stored as separate database fields and honored separately.
We do not send marketing messages to anyone who consented only to notifications, and we do
not send appointment reminders to anyone who consented only to marketing.
The quiz can only ever record marketing consent: it writes the notification-consent field as
FALSE without exception. That field is set to TRUE by exactly one code path
— the booking webhook, and only when the parent ticked the box on the booking form.
The opt-in language is presented in English, with a Spanish translation beneath each item
so that our Spanish-speaking audience gives genuinely informed consent.
Where consent is collected
Step 1 — the quiz. Our “Cuestionario de Preparación para
Becas” (Scholarship Readiness Questionnaire), a 9-question form at
excel-math.com/quiz-es:
The parent answers questions about their child’s SAT preparation and scholarship goals.
On the contact step they enter first name, email address, and mobile phone number.
Below those fields is the marketing consent checkbox reproduced here. It is
unchecked by default and must be affirmatively checked by the consumer.
The phone number is a required field; consent is not. The quiz cannot be submitted
without a phone number, but it submits perfectly well with the box unchecked, and
a parent who leaves it unchecked receives no SMS of any kind. We collect the number so
that a parent who later books a call, and consents at that step, can be reminded of it. Consent is
never a condition of taking the quiz, receiving the report, or purchasing anything.
Step 2 — the booking form. A parent who goes on to book the free Scholarship
Strategy Call sees a separate, independent checkbox for appointment notifications on the Cal.com booking
form. It is unchecked by default and is not required to book.
